10 Bridal Room Essentials
For the bride, the wedding morning begins in her bride's room. Because so much takes place in the bride's room prior to the wedding, it is important that the bride's room is stocked with essentials that will be needed as the bride and her bridal party prepare for the big day that lies ahead. Some bridal room essentials will not only make it easier for the bridal party to get ready for the day, but will also make the bride's room more relaxed and less stressful. Here are my ten top bridal room essentials that are a must in every bridal suite:
#1. Vanity Table with Mirrors
A vanity table with adequate mirror space is probably the most important element in the bride's room. Most of the time will be spent in front of these mirrors applying makeup and styling hair. It is essential that each member of the bridal party has her own personal space to physically prepare for the wedding day.
2. Dressing Room
A dressing room is an important essential to the bride's room. If space allows, a dressing room give the bridal party a little bit of privacy while dressing, especially if a member of the bridal party isn't comfortable dressing in front of others. I offer dressing rooms as an add-on to my basic setups. My dressing rooms include a bench and a dress stand and can be customized to the bride's liking. In addition, a dressing room also provides a beautiful place to display the wedding dress for photos.
#3. Clothing Rack
Clothing racks are a must have for every bridal suite. Clothing racks not only offer a place to hang dresses to keep them wrinkle free and clean, but clothing racks also help keep the bride's room clean and free of clutter by giving the bridal party a place to hang personal belongings. A clothing rack is included in my basic setup.
#4. Full Length Mirror
A bride's room wouldn't be complete without a full length mirror. A full length mirror allows for the bridal party to have a final glance at their appearance prior to walking down the aisle. Any final fixes that need to take place are often times noticed while standing in front of a full length mirror, making the full length mirror and important accessory to the bride's room. A full length mirror is included in my basic setup plan.
#5. Healthy Breakfast or Snacks
With all of the excitement of the wedding day, it's crucial that you don't forget to nourish your body prior to all of the day's events. Start your wedding morning with a healthy breakfast packed with fresh fruits and a few pastries as a little treat to help keep your energy up prior to the day's events. Afterall, nobody likes a hangry bridal party!
#6. Water
In addition to healthy snacks, it's extremely important that the bridal party is hydrated on the wedding day. Be sure to stock your bridal suite with plenty of water, this can include plain water or fruit flavored water. Be sure to stay away from carbonated beverages as they tend to make some people feel bloated. Not a feeling the bridal party will want prior to slipping into their gorgeous dresses.
#7. Robes
Robes are a great accessory to the bride's room. Wearing a robe while applying makeup and styling hair will not only keep the bridal party's clothing clean, but will also make it easy to slip into their gowns without messing up their makeup and hair. I offer robes as an add-on option to my bridal room design packages.
#8. Steamer
A steamer is very much needed for every bride's room. Dresses can become wrinkled in transport to the wedding venue. A steamer allows for last minute fixes before the bridal party slips into their gowns.
#9. Makeup Remover Wipes
Make-up remover wipes are often times overlooked when preparing and packing for the bridal suite. Makeup remover wipes allow for quick fixes to makeup mishaps and will come in more handy than you could ever imagine!
#10. Kleenexes
Kleenexes or tissues are great not only for applying makeup, but also for the happy tears that will be shed on the wedding day. Be sure to stock your bride's room with a box or two of Kleenexes. It's better to have too many than not enough.
